The U.S. immigration system is infamous for its hostile bureaucracy, evident in the language used across various naturalization materials. As I perused the recommended vocabulary section of the naturalization test study guide, I couldn’t help but be curious of the types of narratives that those words, in relation to each other, within our current sociopolitical context, would generate.
This booklet consists of AI-generated narratives, derived from words and visual structures used within the N-400 Form and Preparing for the Naturalization Test: A Pocket Study Guide. 19 randomly selected words from the study guide were used to generate each fake narrative in this zine.
